The Number 2 Employee

The trivia question read: “who was Brindlee Mountain’s second employee?” The answers began to fly and then a friendly argument ensued.

Was the number 2 employee, the first person hired, or was it the 2nd person hired?

Whoever made up the trivia question should have asked, “who was the second person Brindlee Mountain hired?” And, the answer is, Tim White.

Tim has been around Brindlee Mountain from the beginning even before he was an employee. He and our owner James Wessel had been friends long before, there were buildings or a fleet of used fire trucks. When James was starting the company, Tim jumped in and helped in any way he could.

…most of you may not know, but when Brindlee first started, the way we would send information to a customer is I would drive to Tim's office in Huntsville, he could print out pictures on glossy paper and then I would take them to the post office and mail them to the customer.

2020 was a very unusual year that caused all of us to adjust and Tim did just that. When many of our team moved to work remotely, Tim one of the constants on our campus. He loves his job and our company and its mission. And, whatever it takes to support that mission or our team Tim is there.

A few days ago one of our team members, Rachell, went out of her way to recognize Tim for his commitment by sending the following to everyone in our company.

I just wanted to give a shout out to my coworker Tim. I've watched Tim fill many shoes since Covid (or Rona as Joey would say). I've seen him act as a mail carrier, IT director, First Responder, Counselor (mostly for me), Contractor (working on repair of the campuses) and the list goes on and on. Years ago James spoke about getting the right people on the bus, and I'm thankful you are on it. (insert short bus comment here). Additionally, I'm thankful that his attention span is greater than mine, because he is often interrupted throughout the day and still manages to handle whatever walks thru our front door.

Thank you, Rachell, for reminding us of Tim’s commitment to Brindlee Mountain. Tim is absolutely a man among men. He's one of the most genuine, sincere, and caring people that we know.

It’s true; whatever needs to be done, Tim will find a way to make it happen, no matter if that is for a customer, vendor, or employee.

In all this, what shines above everything else is Tim’s love for God and his desire to follow Christ’s example to serve others. We see this daily.

So.... with that being said, THANK YOU, Tim! You do great work!

And, thank you for living out our value of serving and caring for each other.

Tim, you may have been the 2nd hired employee, but you are #1 in our books.
