The fourth week of Advent

The search for a place to sleep led them to a stable, probably a dugout side of a hill. The couple might have shared the space with the innkeeper's livestock. It was not the loveliest of settings.

A song lyric says this:

If He can turn that place

into something filled with grace

just think what He can do in the stable of our lives.

Joy was ushered in with the anguish of childbirth and realized through the first cries of a baby boy.
