Week 22 - Cathy Mayer - Relationship with Jesus

I want to share something fundamental to my life: my relationship with Jesus.

To me, being a "Christ follower" isn't about adhering to a religion; it's about a deep, personal relationship. I’ve learned that life in its fullest—what Jesus calls "abundant life"—is found only in knowing Him.

  • Eternal Life Now: Eternal life isn't just something that starts after we die. It is a quality of life that begins the moment we enter into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

  • The Misconception of Jesus: Many see Jesus as a "cosmic party pooper" or someone only for the weak. In reality, He was so dynamic and disruptive that He was criticized for enjoying life too much, and He worked to bring people wholeness and purpose.

  • Internal Healing: True life is experienced from the inside out. We often protect ourselves from past hurts by becoming guarded or bitter, which limits our experience of life. Jesus offers the healing and freedom necessary to experience life to the fullest.

Ultimately, knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ is the definition of eternal, abundant life.
