A thought from our company president.

Team,

1 Samuel 23:15-16 - NIV

While David was at Horesh in the Desert of Ziph, he learned that Saul had come out to take his life.  And Saul's son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find his strength in God.

I wanted to share this with you. There are a lot of things happening in this verse.  One of the most encouraging is the view into the friendship between David and Jonathan. David was experiencing bad news.  Whenever the king of a nation wants you dead, that is a bad deal. Personally speaking, I would be disappointed, even devastated to find out the leader of a country wanted to have me killed.

David and Jonathan are one of the strongest examples of Biblical friendship. Jonathon takes the initiative to go out and find David in his time of need.  Friends show up.  Think about it, Jonathan went against his own dad to be with his friend in a time of need.

When he shows up, what does he do?

He doesn't just sit with him and comfort him but Jonathan helps David find, and renew, his strength in God.  Wow.

Brindlee Mountain is full of friends who show up.  Friends who help each other find their strength in God.  I know this because I have seen you do it for each other and because you have done it for me.

I am grateful for the group that God has brought here together.

in Christ,

James Wessel
