Get Paid to Wear Out Your Shoes

Good walking shoes are not cheap!

The most important piece of apparel you need when deciding to go for a walk is a good pair of shoes. They need to fit well, your feet specifically, and be made of quality materials.

When you find that pair the cost can easily sore near $150 or even above.

But what if your company would pay you to wear them out?

Brindlee Mountain will do that.

A conversation was overheard between two Brindlee Mountain team members recently.

E1: Are you still walking daily?

E2: yes, I try to walk four or five miles a day.

E1: That’s a lot of miles, you must go through shoes pretty quickly.

E2: Yes, 25 to 30 miles a week can quickly add up so I get a new pair every 6 months or so.

E1: WOW, that’s over 600 miles on a pair of shoes. I run about that many miles a week and have to get a new pair of shoes every 250-400 miles.

E2: yeah, I probably should get a new pair more often.

E1: are you keeping track of your activity and regularly submitting it to the finance team, so you can get your Activity Counts $40 per month?

E2: yes

Good for E2.

By keeping track of his activity Brindlee Mountain pays him to wear out his shoes. Every employee at Brindlee Mountain can qualify for the Activity Counts benefit of $40 a month. They just need to track just 60 minutes of activity per week. To walk 4 or 5 miles a day takes 60-75 minutes. E2 easily qualifies for the benefit.

So, really every four months E2 gets enough funds for a new $150 pair of walking shoes.

What if you were paid to take a walk?

If you are an employee of Brindlee Mountain you are essentially paid to walk and all it takes is 15 minutes four times a week, much less than E2’s 60 minutes 6 days a week.

Walking is just one way to stay active. Time at the gym, running, playing pick-up basketball, taking a bike ride all will qualify as intentional activity.
