JOB SUMMARY
The staff accountant will perform general accounting work to include month-end closing procedures, reconciling general ledger accounts, and variance reporting. The staff accountant will be responsible for overseeing the Purchase Order process, including materials inventory sourcing and allocations to WIP accounts for accurate reporting and billing procedures. Additional duties will include preparing year-end audit schedules for various providers related to 401k, Workers’ Comp., and General Liability Insurance.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Understanding of GAAP
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite application
QuickBooks experience a plus
Ability to retain and source job-specific information
Applicable laws, codes, and regulations
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance (preferred)
Experience
One - three years of general accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties and essential core competencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS LEADING TO SUCCESS
Asset Capitalization Policy adherence
Preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, Analyzing and reconciling expense and revenue accounts.
General understanding of best practices for receivable tracking, fixed asset allocation, internal asset reporting.
Overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Understanding Payroll Processing procedures
Maintaining employee files and payroll records
Assist with special projects as requested by CFO
Be able to demonstrate attention to detail and good record-keeping skills
